Lava Falls Grand Canyon
True, the Colorado through the Grand Canyon offers up some of the biggest white-water in North America. Many people come for the thrills of the rapids, the big drops. And while the rapids have earned their reputation and are exhilarating, they are only part of the river experience.
As the days roll on, you will find it is in the quiet, calm stretches that the river and the Canyon work their wonders. The Grand Canyon can change us, humble us, give us a new perspectiveMotor Rig Grand Canyon on our place in the natural world. In the Canyon every living thing is on equal footing. People come to appreciate their fellow adventurers, and some go away with lifetime friendships. First-time visitors are awestruck by the beauty of this powerful place, and they leave recharged.
For many people, the Canyon's spell is unbreakable, and they come back again and again.

During the day we make frequent stops along the river to view archaeological sites, huge caverns, and Mountain Goats Grand Canyonenticing side canyons.

We will see breathtaking waterfalls, deep pools inviting a swim, green streamside oases, and towering cliff walls. At a turn in the trail, we may come upon a deer browsing or hear the delightful serenade of a canyon wren. Every day is one of adventure and discovery – of the secrets of the natural world, of fellowship, of solitude, of yourself.

Evening in Camp Grand Canyon
After a day of boating and exploring, we pull into camp on sandy beaches and eat a delicious dinner.

Sunset in teh Grand Canyon   Evening in camp is a time for many to continue the day's adventures. You may want to bring a collapsible fishing pole and gear to try your luck on trout or catfish.
Or you can pitch in with camp chores, read, relax, bathe, visit with other trip members, or take an evening stroll up a side canyon. After the sun goes down, we often get acquainted and share stories. We sleep under the stars on comfortable mattresses, and Diamond provides a waterproof cover and tent in case of rain.

We serve three excellent, well-balanced meals each day, with snacks between.

Our guides do all the cooking, and we guarantee you won't be disappointed in the meals! Our "chefs" always receive plenty of compliments!
Food in the Grand Canyon   Though we regret not being able to change our menu to accommodate individual diet preferences, everyone will have a wide choice of foods from our basic menu. Vegetarians will find breads, fruits and vegetables at every meal, with dairy products and peanut butter as well. In addition, those with special dietary requirements, such as low-fat meals, can enjoy chicken, fish, or pasta. Soft drinks, diet, and noncarbonated drinks are included on every trip.
